Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has announced that BRIM program will be continued on recent Budget 2016 presentation. The new 1 Malaysia people’s aid scheme will be named BR1M 2016. The BRIM 2016 aid is upgraded a few different payment schemes compared to previous payout to household and single individuals. As Barisan National government is aware of difficulties that Rakyat is facing, the minimum eligibility of BR1M aid has been raised to RM 4,000 monthly income per household. A few categories have also been added.
|Ekasih Household income (e-kasih) < RM 1,000||RM 1,050|
|Household income < RM 3,000||RM 1000|
|Household income RM 3,000 to RM 4,000||RM 800|
|Single individual 21 years old and above income < RM 2,000||RM 400|
As for BR1M 5.0, the lead family member shall receive RM 1,000 for family with household income below RM 3,000. Family with household income between RM 3,000 and RM 4,000 shall receive RM 800 aid. A RM 400 aid will be given to single individuals that are over 21 years old.

Family and individual who has successfully applied for BR1M during the previous allocation need not apply for the latest BR1M aid, however recipients are advised to update their application. Family Bereavement Scheme
The i-BR1M or Takaful insurance will be replaced with Family Bereavement Scheme. Next of kin will receive RM 1,000 in the unfortunate event. The scheme will be valid from 1st of January 2016 to 31st of December 2016
